Midday’s 78 months already ran. Thursday’s 33 months already ran. This is Oct. 1’s unused St. Louis trio.
STL.News, Oct. 3, citing the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Missouri: U.S. District Judge Joshua M. Divine sentenced Isaiah W. Douglas, 25, of Champaign, Illinois, to 39 months; Luis A. Franco-Gonzalez, 26, of Rantoul, Illinois, to 34 months; and Isaiah B. Handford, 28, to 33 months on Oct. 1 in St. Louis. Case: United States v. Isaiah W. Douglas et al., No. 4:24-cr-00515-JMD. Prosecutors said the scheme used checks stolen from Postal Service collection boxes, fraudulent business papers, and impersonation to open unauthorized accounts. Intended losses: at least $581,123. One stolen check deposited: $312,677. Federal prosecutors: the defendants ultimately made no money. Intended is not obtained.
Same STL.News file: Handford’s June 12, 2023, St. Louis bank attempt was refused. Franco-Gonzalez opened an account in Chesterfield that day and deposited the $312,677 check. The office said they still failed to take the cash. Midday already filed Emmanuel Finnih, 43, 78 months, $921,189.08 disbursed. Thursday already filed Salah, 33 months. We will not reprint those terms as first-day news, and we will not smash $581,123 intended into $921,189 disbursed. A plea trio is not Finnih.
What this means for you
If you needed this afternoon’s unused Houston term, it still stands as 78 months. If you needed tonight’s unused crime, it is 39 / 34 / 33 months, $581,123 intended, $0 obtained — not Finnih reprinted.
Bottom line: 39, 34, and 33 months. $581,123 intended. $0 obtained. Not 78 months. Not $921,189.
