Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative, Sept. 14 restoration update: about 80 additional customers restored in the past 24 hours. Roughly 82% of members are back on. Pocket outages remain in portions of Kapaʻa, Wailua, Līhuʻe, Poʻipū, Kōloa, Kalāheo, Hanapēpē, Kaumakani and Waimea. Kōkeʻe still out. Of note: the North Shore from Moloaa to Hāʻena remains at 0% restored.
North Shore note, same day: KIUC and HECO crews kept repairing lines, poles, and equipment. Based on progress, KIUC anticipates first North Shore restorations could occur Wednesday in portions of Princeville and Hanalei. Weather or more damage can move that. The Garden Island: about 80 more mutual-aid personnel Monday, about 250 in the field. There is still no full North Shore restoration date.
Monday’s 8,000-plus out, mostly North Shore, still frames the map. 82% is not 0% in Hāʻena. 211 if you need the county.
