30 claimed already ran. 8 ops already ran. Mokha already ran. This is Thursday’s unused fifty-six.
Arab News, Saeed Al-Batati, Al-Mukalla, updated Oct. 1, 2026, 19:52: Col. Abdul Basit Al-Baher, a Yemeni army officer in Taiz, told Arab News the offensive followed several days of Houthi mobilization and involved attacks across 56 flashpoints in the province. Quote: “This is an invasion of Taiz. This is a major battle in every sense of the word, involving a large number of fighters from Saada, Al-Bayda and other provinces, as well as heavy military equipment.” He said the fighting continued into Thursday afternoon and that government troops prevented further advances. Residents said Houthi fighters accessed Hayjat Al-Abd road, the main route connecting Taiz with Aden, planted explosives in a culvert, and blew it up. That is his line and a resident account. It is not midday’s unused at least 30 on Al-Aqrud reprinted.
Same Arab News file: Col. Majed Al-Nuzail, the military spokesman, said government forces remained in their positions in Taiz and rejected Houthi claims of territorial gains. Rashad Al-Alimi, chair of the Presidential Leadership Council, praised the troops, instructed commanders to isolate infiltrators and protect major roads, and pledged operations to retake Sanaa — a pledge, not a city we watched fall. Ahmed Nagi, International Crisis Group: the Houthis are attacking across several fronts, “seeking to cut the Taiz-Aden highway and isolate the city.” Unverified. Midday already filed Anadolu’s at least 30 on Al-Aqrud and six airstrikes. Morning already filed eight precise ops and Mokha. We will not smash 56 into 30, and we will not invent a Houthi comment Arab News does not have.
What this means for you
If you needed this afternoon’s unused thirty, it still stands as a Taiz Axis claim. If you needed tonight’s unused international, it is 56 flashpoints, Nuzail rejects gains, and a road residents said was cut. Unverified. If the week is too heavy, 988.
Bottom line: 56 flashpoints. Nuzail rejects gains. Not 30 reprinted. Not a count we weighed.
