Okaz, Ahmed al-Shamiri, Tuesday 2:53 p.m., as carried by Bel Balady: a military source said Yemen’s army thwarted a Houthi attack today (Tuesday) on the Rasin, Jabal Qarfan, and Jurdad fronts in Bani Omar, Al-Shamayatain district, southwest of Taiz. The source said the armed forces broke the attack and inflicted losses, “more than 50” dead among Houthi ranks, with other clashes on the Al-Waziyah front in Taiz and the Al-Mudharabah front in Lahj. That is one unnamed military source. We did not count the bodies. A claim is not a tally we weighed.
Same Okaz file: warplanes, today (Tuesday), struck Houthi positions in Taiz, Saada, Hudaydah, and Marib. Local sources named Al-Areen in Haifan, Taiz; Sahar and Majz; military communications in Al-Nukhaylah, Al-Durayhimi, and Al-Luhayyah in Hudaydah; and weapons depots on the outskirts of Marib. The militia, Okaz said, is tight-lipped about losses. Midday already filed Xinhua’s unused Al-Madaribah ridge — a government official’s 28 Houthis claimed killed versus a Houthi source’s 16 soldiers claimed killed. Do not smash 50 into 28 and 16. Morning already filed Anadolu’s 356 operations and 476 claimed. Do not reprint those as first-day news. We will not invent a recapture of Sanaa on this board.
