Morning’s 160 months already ran. This is Monday’s unused Central Valley sentence.
Sierra Sun Times, Oct. 4, citing U.S. Attorney Eric Grant, Eastern District of California: Gilberto Barron, 26, formerly of Delano and Las Vegas, was sentenced Monday, Sept. 28, by U.S. District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston to seven years and 10 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and aggravated identity theft in a $10 million real-estate fraud scheme. He pleaded guilty June 29, 2026. Seven years 10 months is not morning’s 160 months. $10 million is the scheme the office named. It is not Iley’s over $2 million loan scam reprinted.
Same USAO file: in 2021 and 2022, Barron and others conspired with federal inmate Seth Depiano, 45, formerly of Clovis, then already serving 12 years for a prior fraud, to create fake identities and shell companies that mirrored legitimate real-estate firms, then market properties that were not actually for sale, including homes whose owners had died. They closed with fabricated deeds and title reports, then laundered funds through Las Vegas casinos. Zahria Barber, 29, of Las Vegas, was sentenced June 29 to one year. Depiano took nine years in January 2026 on top of the 12, 21 years total. Those terms already exist. We will not reprint them as Barron’s clock. U.S. Attorney Grant: “Barron chose to engage in a multimillion‑dollar fraud scheme, and today’s sentence makes clear that such criminal conduct will be met with substantial punishment.” A quote is not a second count.
Morning already filed Clayton Lloyd Iley, 41, 160 months, over $2 million, 90 cars, N.D. Tex. We will not reprint that Texas box as first-day news. Sunday’s Douglas 39 months already ran.
What this means for you
If you needed this morning’s unused crime, it still stands as Iley, 160 months. If you needed this afternoon’s unused sentence, it is Barron, seven years 10 months, $10 million. A June plea is not a case still waiting on a jury.
Bottom line: Seven years 10 months. $10 million scheme. Not Iley 160. Not Douglas 39.
