U.S. Attorney David C. Waterman, Southern District of Iowa / Marshall County Sheriff, Wednesday Sept. 23: 14 individuals face federal charges in a methamphetamine trafficking investigation. 11 were arrested Sept. 22 during 10 federal search warrants in Marshalltown, Perry, and Des Moines. Those warrants, the office said, resulted in the seizure of $21,193, six firearms, and 18 phones. Named among the charged: Jose Manuel Yepez Jr., 31, Marshalltown; Marisol Ordaz Buenrostro, 24, Perry; Micaela A. Rivera, 25, Des Moines; Felipe Ramirez Alvizu, 40; Jennifer Mares Flores, 31; Liliana Hernandez Vazquez, 29; Georgina Kasandra Hernandez Vazquez, 21; Yureli Alondra Hernandez Vazquez, 25; Juan Pablo Mendoza Juarez, 26; Luis Ruben Aguilera Perez, 32; Carlos Mendoza Juarez, 19, all Marshalltown except as noted. Three Hernandez Vazquez sisters: conspiracy to commit money laundering, up to 20 years if convicted. Carlos Mendoza Juarez: conspiracy and distribution, 5 years mandatory minimum to 40 if convicted. The remaining named: conspiracy to distribute and related crimes, 10 years to life if convicted.
11 made initial appearances; trial listed Nov. 30, 2026. Three have not yet appeared. The release names 11 of the 14. We will not invent the other three. An indictment is an allegation. Midday’s unused Kulpmont count already ran.
