Sunday cash is dark. Friday’s 51,655 already ran. This morning’s 2,750 already ran. This is Sunday evening’s unused CENTCOM disable.
U.S. Central Command, Saturday Oct. 10, Tampa, via Al Jazeera / Anadolu / The Hill: a U.S. fighter jet struck the stern of Panama-flagged M/V Ocean Molica, also known as Arika Sun, with a precision munition in the Gulf of Oman, fully disabling the ship’s propulsion without harming the crew. CENTCOM said the crew ignored repeated warnings and tried to run the naval blockade against Iran after previously departing an Iranian port. A disable is not a sinking this desk verified. Unharmed is their line.
Same CENTCOM file: the blockade on ships entering or leaving Iranian ports resumed July 14. In three months the command said it had disabled four commercial vessels, turned around 135 ships, and destroyed 10 tankers linked to the IRGC’s shadow network. Those are their counts. We did not weigh the hulks. UKMTO, Sunday: it had a report of an incident involving a tanker and military forces in the Gulf of Oman and was investigating. UKMTO’s “tanker” is not CENTCOM’s cargo-vessel name reprinted as a second hit. Friday already filed no attack on Iran before Nov. 3, blockade on. We will not reprint that clock as first-day news, and we will not invent a Sunday Dow close.
What this means for you
If you hold an index, the last grade is still Friday’s 51,655, not a Sunday close we invent. If you needed this evening’s unused paper, it is Ocean Molica, stern hit, propulsion out, crew said unharmed. If you needed independently verified control of Hormuz, wait.
Bottom line: Disabled, they said. Crew unharmed, they said. Not a Sunday close. Not 2,750 reprinted.
