Turki al-Malki said coalition forces intercepted and destroyed six ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis, and that air defenses foiled an attempt to target Taif and Yanbu. He said the escalation will be dealt with firmly. Reuters: there was no immediate Saudi confirmation of damage or casualties in either place. Intercepted is not a crater we measured.
Reuters, 7:19 p.m. UTC: the Houthis said later they had launched missile and drone attacks on a “sensitive target” in Riyadh and on Aramco facilities in Yanbu. Al-Monitor / Reuters: spokesman Yahya Saree also claimed dozens of missiles and drones on military sites in Jazan — operations rooms, depots, camps. There was no immediate Saudi confirmation of a Riyadh hit or of the Jazan list. A claim is not Kpler.
Fox News Digital, 4:51 p.m. ET: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of UNGA: “The fact that the Houthis are threatening the Bab el-Mandeb, threatening international shipping, is a risk to international security stability. That means that the responsibility to dealing with this threat is not just on Saudi Arabia, it is also on the whole international community.” A warning is not a strike we timed.
