The pipe already ran. The overnight count already ran. This is the unused strait line.
Reuters, Saturday, Dubai newsroom: An Iranian source told the semi-official Tasnim news agency that an understanding between Iran and Oman does not provide for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. It establishes the basis on which the strait could reopen. The source said the arrangement would be a step toward Iran exercising sovereignty over the strait, and that reopening depended entirely on the United States meeting Tehran’s conditions.
That is not a corridor. That is not a tonnage print. Salalah Monday — Gulf and Iranian ministers, per earlier FT reporting Reuters has not verified as a signed text — is still a calendar invite. Morning already said it is not a deal. Saturday’s Tasnim line is the unused confirmation that even the “understanding” is not an open lane.
Brent Friday settle remains $104.61. Trump in Dublin said oil will “come tumbling down.” A quote is not a settle. Cash averages are still closed. Not investment advice.
What this means for you
If you needed the East-West pipe, that was 8 a.m. If you needed 11 and 96, that was 1 p.m. If you needed Hormuz open, this source says not immediately.
Bottom line: Understanding ≠ reopen. Conditions not met. Monday is still a meeting.
