Monday’s still closed already ran. Sunday’s 2,750 already ran. This is Tuesday’s unused intercept.
The National, Tuesday: coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Malki said the Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched toward Khamis Mushait in the southwest. The statement did not say where they were launched from, and it did not say whether anyone was hurt or whether anything was damaged. We will not invent a crater. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree claimed a drone “direct hit” on the Khamis Mushait airbase. A claim is not a confirmed hit. Reuters, Monday night: the Houthis said they targeted that airbase with a drone; there was no immediate Saudi confirmation. We will keep that gap.
Reuters / GACA NOTAM: King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh stays closed until 21:00 GMT, Oct. 17. Monday this desk filed still closed, no reopen time. Oct. 17 is the unused clock. A NOTAM’s end is not a reopen GACA has announced. Aerospace Global News: GACA has yet to give a reopening date. Saree repeated a warning against flights to Saudi airports, except the airports and airspace of Makkah and Madinah. The National: Media Minister Salman al-Dosary, Monday in Riyadh, said the kingdom would “remain strong and united” and condemned attacks on civilians and civilian facilities. We will not reprint Sunday’s unused 1 dead / 11 injured GACA paper or Saturday’s 13 / 300+ vs 12 / 309 as first-day news.
Same National page, later Tuesday: the coalition told civilians in rebel-held Sanaa to evacuate the area around the Yemen Oil Company’s Al Sabahah central station ahead of a “special operation.” The Houthis warned any attack on Sanaa would be met with a harsh and painful response. An evacuation warning is not the capital fallen. We will not invent Sanaa taken. UN OCHA, Monday briefing on the same page: at least 54 civilians killed, half of them children; 171 injured, including 107 women and children. IOM: more than 216,000 displaced since August, at least 172,000 from Taiz. Those are UN numbers, not a strait held. Sunday’s unused 2,750 already ran. Saturday’s unused not secured / Mayun still Houthi already ran. We will not reprint Al Jaber, Eryani, or Dhubab, and we will not invent Sanaa fallen.
What this means for you
If you needed Monday’s unused international, it still stands as closed, no reopen time. If you needed this morning’s unused sentence, it is two intercepts toward Khamis Mushait, a NOTAM to Oct. 17 that is not a reopen, and a Sanaa warning that is not the capital taken. If you needed independently verified control of the strait, wait.
Bottom line: Two missiles, they said. Oct. 17 is a NOTAM, not a reopen. Sanaa warning is not Sanaa fallen. Not 2,750 reprinted.
