Overnight into Tuesday, both sides hit energy targets anyway. Ukrainian officials: Russia launched 200 drones, hitting energy and port facilities. In Kyiv, one person was killed and seven injured in attacks on two gas stations, warehouses, and other sites. Ukrnafta was among the stations named. That is not Friday’s two killed and 12 hurt at Kyiv pumps. It is a new night.
Kyiv’s military said it struck the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region, plus a drone-production site in Taganrog and a launch site in Oryol. Euronews / General Staff: the Syzran hit included a primary crude distillation unit and a tank farm, Ukraine said. Armed forces: 187 of the 200 drones intercepted. A claim of a hit is not a refinery shutdown we can count from here.
Zelenskyy, NBC said, questioned that a deal had been reached: he would halt energy strikes if Russia did the same, and he does not trust the Kremlin to do so. Dmitry Peskov on Tuesday called Trump’s proposal “a very good idea, a good initiative,” and said it was still being discussed with Washington. The White House did not immediately explain the gap.
