Octoberโs European booking already ran. This is the count they put on the offensive, and the claim that holding the coast is harder than taking it.

Houthis have โgreat difficultyโ recovering at least 3,000 bodies and evacuating thousands of wounded as airstrikes continue. That 3,000 is a government-side recovery claim, not a verified death toll. Sadiq Duwaid, National Resistance spokesman: the west-coast operation had been planned for months and was carried out on direct orders from Iranโs Revolutionary Guard, with Iranian and Lebanese experts. That is his account. Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi, Thursday, via Yemen Monitor / SABA: Houthi gains are temporary; the state can regain the initiative on the western coast; he recalled retaking Aden and, on his count, more than 70% of the territory. A speech is not a recapture. Il Foglio: the next targets in that telling are Taiz, the hub toward Aden, and Marib, with its oil and gas. A target is not a fall.
