The opener kept its time. It lost its lead back.
TreVeyon Henderson is out for tonight’s NFL Kickoff at Seattle, Reuters reported Wednesday from Field Level Media. Ankle. He did not practice all week. The slip was Aug. 24 in camp. He is 23. Rookie year: 911 rushing yards, nine rushing touchdowns, New England’s lead back. Super Bowl LX: six carries, 19 yards, three catches, 26 yards in the 29–13 loss. The rematch does not get that version of him.
Rhamondre Stevenson becomes the listed lead. Sixth season, all in Foxborough. Last year: 603 rushing yards, nine touchdowns (seven rush, two receiving). Practice-squad elevations, if any, post Wednesday — we will not guess Larison or Haskins onto a 53.
Already out: offensive lineman Ben Brown (knee), who did not travel. Interior backup is the August add, Greg Van Roten. Christian Barmore (knee) is cleared. Seahawks: safety Ty Okada (hamstring) out. Safety Nick Emmanwori (ankle) questionable — 81 tackles, AP DROY runner-up as a rookie, ankle procedure this offseason. Tory Horton (hamstring) questionable. Tackle Josh Jones (knee) has no game designation.
8:20 p.m. ET. Lumen Field. NBC, Peacock, Telemundo. Drake Maye on the road. Sam Darnold at home. Super Bowl LX rematch. First Patriots Wednesday game. We are not filling in a line. We are not typing a score before the ball is snapped.
Thursday is still 49ers at Rams in Melbourne, Netflix, 8:35 ET.
What this means for you
If you bet the Patriots’ ground game off last year’s tape, the tape just lost 911 yards. If you only needed a channel, it is NBC at 8:20. If you wanted inactives as gospel, wait for the 90-minute list, not this injury report.
Bottom line: Henderson out. Brown already home. Kickoff is still 8:20. Do not ask us who covered.
