The table you want is still embargoed.
CPI is the Consumer Price Index. BLS, 8:30 a.m. ET, Friday. It asks what urban consumers paid in August. July was +0.1% month, +3.4% year. A forecast is not a print. We will not type August until the agency does.
PPI was Thursday. Producers. +0.4% / +5.4%. Energy did the goods jump. That can hint. It does not fill in Friday’s decimal.
8:02 futures are a pre-market bid. Dow 52,374 on the YM last is not the 4 p.m. cash close. That close is already in: 52,064.10. Oil at $104.17 is a futures last, not the Dow.
FOMC is Sept. 15–16. Chair Kevin Warsh. Twelve votes. A $5,000 pledge and a Perim pin are not BLS series. A Financial Times report that ministers are trying to work a Hormuz arrangement is not a signed corridor.
What this means for you
If you heard 5.4% yesterday and thought your rent moved, you heard producers. If you heard 52,374 this morning, you heard a draft. If you needed consumers, wait until the bell at 8:30.
Bottom line: CPI is next. PPI is yesterday. Futures are 8:02. The close is 52,064.
