Carr already ran. This microphone is on a golf course in Clare.
Reuters, Doonbeg, Ireland, Sept. 13, 2:34 p.m. UTC: President Donald Trump called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to stop targeting Russian diesel infrastructure. He was talking to journalists at the Irish Open, on a course his family owns.
Quote: “Mr. Zelenskiy has to do one thing: He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia.” And: “We spoke to Mr. Zelenskiy about it. There are plenty of other targets. Don’t hit diesel fuel. That’s hurting the world.” He added that the global shortage “isn’t done by the Middle East, this is done by what’s happening with Russia and Ukraine.”
GasBuddy: the U.S. national average for diesel — trucks, trains, ships, farm kit — went over $6 a gallon on Thursday for the first time. Ukraine says refineries are legitimate military targets. Reuters: a wave of long-distance Ukrainian drone attacks has cut Russian fuel production and triggered gasoline shortages inside Russia. A government draft forecast seen by Reuters downgraded Russia’s oil-output outlook to a 17-year low.
A Sunday quote is not a ceasefire. It is not a signed halt. Kyiv has not posted a yes in this file.
What this means for you
If you needed Carr, that was 8 a.m. If you drive a diesel, $6 is still Thursday’s retail line. If you needed a deal, wait for text. Not investment advice on the pump.
Bottom line: Trump said stop hitting diesel. That is a quote. It is not a halt.
