The weather is not the only federal paper today.
A federal grand jury in Nevada indicted Demandre Michael Frazier, Jessica Marie Zamora, and Treyvon Jameel Currie over alleged illegal gun buys and a concealed weapon at the U.S. Department of Energy Nevada National Security Sites facility in North Las Vegas, FOX5 Las Vegas reported Wednesday from the Justice Department.
Allegations in the indictment, not proven facts: In February 2026, Frazier and Zamora made false statements on ATF Firearms Transaction Record forms buying two pistols — a 9x19mm Smith & Wesson and a .40-caliber Smith & Wesson. In April, prosecutors say Zamora and a defendant not yet named publicly made false statements buying a 10mm Smith & Wesson. On Aug. 5, Currie and Zamora, carrying a concealed weapon, entered and attempted to enter the North Las Vegas facility. Notices of prohibitions are posted at the doors, the DOJ says.
Currie and Zamora each face one count of entry or attempted entry by fraud and false pretenses on U.S. property with intent to commit a felony there; possession of a firearm in a secure federal facility; unauthorized entry on a DOE site enclosed by a barrier; and unauthorized introduction of a dangerous weapon onto that site. Zamora also faces two counts of illegal acquisition of a firearm. Frazier faces one.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Sigal Chattah: the indictment is a message that bypassing federal gun laws and secure spaces will be prosecuted. FBI Las Vegas SAC Christopher S. Delzotto: the bureau will not tolerate breaches of protected institutions. Jury trial: Nov. 2, 2026.
Charges are accusations. The people named are presumed innocent unless a jury says otherwise.
What this means for you
If you walk onto a posted federal site with a gun, that is a different statute than a street permit. If you only read the names, wait for November. If you needed a non-weather breaker, this is one.
Bottom line: three people charged. A DOE facility. A November trial date. Not a verdict.
