Quote: “We’ll ultimately get out (of Iran), unless we decide to stay and keep the oil like Venezuela.” He added that U.S. revenue from Venezuela has “paid for the war many times.”
He again said he expects the Iran war to end this year, possibly just after the November midterms. Gasoline, he said, would “drop like a rock” once the war ended. He would only make the “right deal,” not one that was “no good.” He said Iran was “calling constantly” for peace talks — an assertion Reuters notes Tehran has dismissed in the past.
A quote is not a production-sharing contract. A Venezuela comparison is not a barrel delivered. Midday’s diesel ask is a different sentence.
