CPI, 8:30 a.m. ET — August consumer prices. PPI Thursday was +0.4% month, +5.4% year. Economists, per CNN yesterday, expected annual CPI near 3.3% from July’s 3.4%. That is a forecast. It is not this morning’s table. FOMC Sept. 15–16, Chair Kevin Warsh. We will not invent the print.
What this means for you
If you hold an index, wait for 8:30, then 9:30. If you needed $109 oil, that was last night’s futures last. If you needed the close, it is still 52,064. Not investment advice.
Bottom line: Futures 52,374. Brent $104.17. CPI is next. We will not type it first.
