The cash session has not opened. The oil pit did not sleep.
Yahoo Finance, 7:59–8:00 a.m. ET Thursday: Dow futures 52,448, a few points green versus Wednesday’s cash 52,380.66. S&P 500 futures 7,632, a few points soft versus 7,636.36. Brent $103.45. WTI $98.58. Bitcoin about $77,698. That is a pre-bell snapshot, not a close, not PPI.
Wednesday already priced a $101 handle and a 405-point Dow drop. Overnight added another couple of dollars of crude into the 8:30 ET August Producer Price Index. BLS embargo lifts at 8:30. We will not guess the month-over-month. We will not guess the year-over-year. CPI is Friday. FOMC is Sept. 15–16, Chair Kevin Warsh.
Meta closed +6.55%. That does not cancel $103 oil. Canada’s counter-tariffs are two sessions old. The IAEA referral is one night old.
What this means for you
If you hold an index, wait for 8:30 and then for 9:30. If you needed yesterday’s close, it is still 52,381. Not investment advice.
Bottom line: futures quiet. Brent $103.45. PPI is the next number. We will not invent it.
