U.S. Attorney Eric Grant, Eastern District of California, announced Ronald Juckno, 53, of Fresno, was charged with keeping and failing to deliver the mail, the San Joaquin Valley Sun reported Sept. 14. The Washington Times, Tuesday, citing the same office: law enforcement arrested him Friday after the indictment. Alleged window: August and September 2024. More than 8,500 pieces in his possession, including EDD correspondence, financial records, insurance, medical mail, tax records, and utility bills.
USPS put him on leave after the undelivered mail was found. He resigned shortly after, prosecutors said. If convicted: up to five years and a $250,000 fine. Five years is a maximum if convicted. An indictment is not a sentence. This is not Judge Nichols and the mail-in rule. This is not 8,500 ballots.
