Reuters, Jason Lange, Washington, Sept. 14, 8:35 p.m. UTC (4:35 p.m. ET): a four-day Reuters/Ipsos poll after last weekโs first Republican midterm convention. 1,143 adults nationwide. Margin of error 3 points either way.
Approval 35%, up from 33% in the Aug. 28โ31 survey โ the lowest of this presidency. Generic congressional ballot: Democrats 44%, Republicans 37%. Reuters: the 7-point gap is the widest since Trump returned in January 2025. Economy stewards: Democrats 38%, Republicans 37% โ Democrats took that edge over the summer for the first time in about a decade.
Sixty-three percent disapprove of the $5,000 dividend he offered if Republicans keep Congress in November โ including four in 10 Republicans and nine in 10 Democrats. About two-thirds of adults, including half of Republicans, called the White House construction projects a low priority.
A poll is not a midterm. Nov. 3 is still the calendar. Reuters notes generic ballots do not capture every district.

Bottom line: 35%. 44โ37. 63% said no to $5,000. Not Nov. 3.
