The Dow closed red for a fourth day. One megacap did not get the memo.
Yahoo Finance, 4 p.m. ET: Apple $326.57, up $11.23, +3.56% from Wednesday’s $315.34. The Dow still finished 52,064.10, −0.60%. S&P −0.58%. Nasdaq −0.65%. Midday the tape was oil and PPI. The last hours put a plus sign on Cupertino and left the average in the hole.
That is a split, not a new bull market. Intel $100.32, −5.57% — Wednesday’s $106.24 is gone. Nvidia $218.36, −2.37%. Meta $644.38, −1.42% after last night’s +6.55%. Amazon −0.20%. Tesla −1.16%. Alphabet +0.59%, Microsoft +0.16% — green, not a rescue.
Brent $108.93 after the equity bell. PPI 5.4% already printed. CPI Friday. We will not invent a reason from a ticker.
What this means for you
If you hold an index, Apple’s plus sign did not buy you a green Dow. If you needed Meta to do it again, it did not. If you needed a close, it is 52,064. Not investment advice.
Bottom line: Apple $326.57. Dow 52,064. One green name. Fourth red day.
