The pit is open. The averages are not. The hike already posted.
Yahoo Finance, Thursday 8:04 a.m. ET: Dow futures 52,371. S&P 500 futures 7,694.25. Nasdaq 100 futures 29,621.50. WTI $99.97. Brent $98.88. Wednesday’s official cash close remains Dow 51,461.90, S&P 7,551.81, Nasdaq 25,978.42. Futures are not that close. 9:30 a.m. ET is the open. 4:00 p.m. is the grade.
Brent $98.88 at 8:04 is not Tuesday’s $108.75 settle and not Yahoo’s $105.61 at 7:02 p.m. Wednesday. WTI $99.97 is not last night’s $102.02 at 7:05. Bitcoin about $76,683 at 8:14 a.m. ET. Nvidia still Wednesday’s $213.90 until cash opens.
FOMC already voted. Funds 3.75–4%, 12–0. Warsh: inflation “too high … for too long.” SAN: after the decision Trump posted on Truth Social that rates should be “One percent, or less,” and told the Fed to lower them fast. A reporter asked Warsh what he would say to the president. “I’ve got nothing for you.” A post is not a cut. The SEP median 4.1% year-end is still a projection. We will not invent October.
