DVIDS video DOW-UAP-PR159, posted Sept. 18, 7:15 a.m.: archival footage digitized from a 16mm print of Kodachrome color motion-picture film shot on a handheld Bell & Howell Auto Master near Tremonton, Utah, on July 2, 1952. U.S. Navy Chief Warrant Officer Delbert C. Newhouse reported observing and filming a group of bright airborne objects and submitted the footage to the U.S. Air Force. The film later sat in Project Blue Book (1952โ1969). Companion record DOW-UAP-D102 is that Blue Book file. DVIDS length: 1 minute, 10 seconds. VIRIN 520702-D-D0360-8575. DVIDSโs own caption: limited detail and a lack of fixed reference points prevented a conclusive resolution. From the 55-second mark the print shifts to unrelated footage that appears to show a sewing-equipment demonstration โ the surviving reel may be a composite or reused print; the record does not establish how or when the materials were combined. Records with the film, DVIDS says, originally paired it with Idaho mountain scenery that is not in this digitization. That is the governmentโs own brake. We will keep it. Unresolved is the PURSUE label. Unresolved is not alien.
Mondayโs DOW-UAP-D108 already ran as six spheres, 480 mph, one minute of 2025 infrared. We will not reprint 480 as first-day news. A 1952 handheld reel is not that IR clip. We will not type a crash, a non-human body, or an AARO finding that Newhouse filmed a craft this desk can name.
