Sunday’s 48 months already ran. Saturday’s verdict, no months already ran. This is Monday’s unused charging paper.
Department of Justice, Office of Public Affairs, Monday Oct. 12: charges involving 16 people for illegal voting, fraudulent registration, and related election crimes. The release lists voting by non-citizens in federal elections, false claims of U.S. citizenship to register or vote, voting on behalf of the deceased, voting more than once in the same election, false statements on citizenship papers, and unlawful procurement of citizenship. A complaint, indictment, or information is an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. That is the department’s own last line. We will keep it.
Named files in the same release: Patrick Perea, 62, District of New Mexico, indicted on one count of fraudulent voting: prosecutors say he tried to cast his deceased wife’s absentee ballot in the November 2024 general election at the Bernalillo County clerk in Albuquerque. Forrest Scott Woody, 68, of Hendersonville, North Carolina, Northern District of Alabama: charged with voting twice in 2024 — Calhoun County, Alabama, after already voting in Henderson County, North Carolina, the indictment says. Eastern District of Pennsylvania, four charged by information with voting by an alien in 2024: Hacina Saadi, 48; Jamil Ahmad, 50; Nighat Jamil, 47; Paulo Silva, 54. Southern District of Alabama: Silvia Delgado Phelps, 78, alleged votes in Baldwin County; Staciann Pollion Davis, 42, alleged November 2024 vote in Clarke County. Western District of Missouri: Andre’s Garcia, 64, two counts, alleged votes in November 2022 and November 2024, and alleged votes in at least 15 elections including at least 13 federal. District of Idaho: Stanley Walton, 82, alleged 2022 general. District of New Jersey: Lizabeth Almonte Rosa, 24, complaint: voting by an alien and unlawfully procuring citizenship. Southern District of Ohio: Cary Ann Patterson, 59, alleged November 2024 vote and at least 10 elections as an alien, the complaint says. Northern District of Ohio: Arshed Zuberi, 69, alleged at least six elections; Eliza M. Moss, 63, alleged several primaries and generals. District of Hawaii: Dawid Nalepa, 45, information, alleged November 2024 vote. Western District of Kentucky: Sandra Madeline Watson, 59, alleged illegal voting by an alien in a federal election. 16 is this Monday’s count. It is not Sept. 18’s other 16. We will not reprint that docket as first-day news. We will not reprint Beltre, Meadows, Ramirez, Barron, or Iley. A press release is not a steal. Nov. 3 is still the election.
What this means for you
If you needed Sunday’s unused crime, it still stands as Beltre, 48 months, after a plea. If you needed this noon’s unused paper, it is 16 charged, not 16 convicted. If the week is too heavy, 988.
Bottom line: 16 charged. Not convicted. Not Beltre reprinted. Not Sept. 18’s 16 reprinted.
