Kehoe, Middle District of Florida: Christiane Vinette Young, 75, a Canadian national prosecutors say is illegally present in the United States, charged by information with three counts of voting by an alien. Alleged ballots: the 2024 general, the 2022 general, and the 2022 primary in Fort Myers, despite knowing she was not a U.S. citizen. If convicted on all three counts, the maximum is three years in federal prison. A maximum is not a sentence. An information is not a jury.
Homeland Security Investigations investigated, with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Lee County Supervisor of Elections. Assistant U.S. Attorney Benjamin S. Winter is prosecuting. WGCU: the case is scheduled before U.S. District Judge Sheri Polster Chappell. FOX 13: court dates for an initial appearance have not been announced. We will not invent one.
