The NFL is off. College did not take the day.
Washington State at Washington, 4 p.m. ET, NBC, Husky Stadium β the Apple Cup in Week 1 instead of the usual November night. That is the rare one. If you are watching at dinner, it is already the live one. We are not inventing a score.
Then the country splits. 7:30 p.m. ET: No. 4 Notre Dame vs Wisconsin at Lambeau Field, NBC. Packers country, Irish helmets, a Big Ten guest in the house the Ice Bowl built. Same kick: No. 9 Ole Miss vs No. 24 Louisville at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, ABC. Two ranked teams, a neutral-ish NFL venue, the first real Sunday night the sport has this year.
How it sits after Saturday
Ohio State 56β3. LSU 51β10. Texas 59β7. Alabama 48β10. Indiana 52β16. Miami 45β6 Friday. Week 1 was a blowout factory. Sunday is the first board that can stay close. NFL Week 1 is still Wednesday β SeahawksβPatriots in Australia, 8:20 p.m. ET on the U.S. tape.
What this means for you
If you only do Saturday, you still have three games. If you wanted a rivalry that feels like November, the Apple Cup moved the date, not the noise. If you pick one night window, Lambeau is the picture; Nashville is the ranking.
Bottom line: no NFL. Three college games. Two of them at 7:30. Do not ask us for a final we do not have.
