Weekend exits: four โ a Handysize in ballast, a Handy with LPG, a Supramax with fertilizer, a Suezmax laden with crude or condensate. Weekend entries: ten, including grain, metals, and dry bulk. The figures exclude any ships that crossed with AIS transponders off.
Before the Iran war started Feb. 28, the strait typically handled about 125 large commercial vessels a day, some 20% of the worldโs daily crude and LNG supply, Reuters said. UKMTOโs Sunday projectile still stands as the strike file. Saudiโs East-West pipe still stands as the bypass that shut. Bab el-Mandeb: 24 commodity vessels Saturday, 27 Sunday, versus about 27 over the last 10 days.
