Reuters, Nayera Abdallah, Sept. 17, 2:23 p.m. UTC: a Yemeni living in Saudi Arabia was killed Thursday in the interception of a drone that the kingdomโs Civil Defense said was launched by Yemenโs Iran-backed Houthis. The death was in Taif governorate, southwestern Saudi Arabia. It is the first death Riyadh has announced this month since the Houthis intensified attacks. A Saudi woman and a Pakistani resident were also injured. Riyadh had previously announced 86 people injured this month in Houthi attacks. One death is not 86 injured.

The Houthis did not claim any attacks on Thursday, Reuters said. They have previously announced operations on southern Saudi areas. Wednesday, the group said 40 Saudi airstrikes targeted the Yemeni provinces of Taiz, Marib, and Hajjah in the previous 24 hours. That is their count.
