The holiday did not knock him off the marquee.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is tracking a sixth straight weekend at No. 1 — studio estimates put the traditional Friday–Sunday near $18 million and the four-day Labor Day frame near $23 million (Screen Daily: $23.3 million). Domestic cume about $923 million. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is still the unadjusted North American record at about $936.7 million. The gap is ~$13–14 million. That is one more decent weekend, not a requel.
Worldwide: about $2.4 billion, third all-time behind Avatar ($2.9 billion) and Avengers: Endgame ($2.7 billion), ahead of Avatar: The Way of Water. Longest No. 1 streak since that second Avatar sat for seven. Tom Holland, Destin Daniel Cretton, Sony/Marvel. We already told you $900 million in 36 days. This is the Labor Day add-on.
The rest of the room: Rentrak had the three-day marketplace near $90.4 million. Year-to-date about $7.36 billion, up roughly 20% on 2025. Summer 2026 is around $4.7 billion. The all-time summer mark is 2013 at $4.756 billion. If the four-day holiday clears about $118 million, some desks think this summer sneaks past. Calendar quirk: this summer ran longer than 2013’s. Still a sentence Hollywood will put on a slide.
Coyote vs. Acme is a separate hold. We already wrote that one.
What this means for you
If you have not seen it, the record is not waiting for you, but the multiplex is still running it. If you care about “the movies are dead,” $4.7 billion is the counter. If you only needed one number, it is $13 million.
Bottom line: sixth weekend on top. $923 million at home. The Force Awakens number is in sight. People still left the house.
